Frisco Volunteers Can Help Clear Litter From Local Waterways
Clean It & Green It: Streams brings families and groups together October 24

Frisco residents can spend one Saturday morning making a visible difference in the waterways that run through their community.
Clean It & Green It: Streams takes place October 24, with volunteers collecting litter from 9 to 11 a.m.
The city welcomes individuals, families and organized groups, making the cleanup an accessible service project for neighbors who want to work together.
Volunteers may receive an assigned cleanup location or choose an area they already know.
How the morning works
Participants begin at the Environmental Collection Center, 6616 Walnut Street, between 8 and 9 a.m. to sign waivers and collect supplies.
The city provides gloves, bags and hand sanitizer, along with event shirts while supplies last.
After the cleanup, volunteers return collected trash and supplies to the center between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Pre-registration is open through Sunday, October 18 and is strongly encouraged so organizers can prepare enough supplies.
Walk-up participation is allowed, but registering ahead offers the best chance of having materials ready.
Minors must have a parent or guardian sign the required waiver.
The work is straightforward, but the effect is shared: cleaner creek corridors, healthier public spaces and fewer discarded items moving through local drainage systems.
Frisco’s Environmental Services and Stormwater teams host community cleanups quarterly, giving residents more than one opportunity each year to contribute.
For groups, the city recommends choosing a meetup point before cleanup day.
A few hours of coordinated effort can turn an ordinary Saturday into a practical community win.
