380 Weather Watch: Friday Rain Could Affect Halloween Plans Along US-380
Little Elm and the US-380 Corridor face their best rain chance Friday, with improving but uncertain conditions for Halloween and another potential front early next week.

After several warm and mostly dry days, the central US-380 Corridor has a change in the forecast just as Halloween weekend approaches. The National Weather Service expects the most significant rain chance on Friday, October 30, with some showers potentially lingering into Saturday.
What is changing? Little Elm is expected to reach about 83°F Tuesday, 84°F Wednesday and 83°F Thursday. Skies turn cloudier Thursday before Friday brings a 50% chance of daytime showers and a cooler high near 74°F. The Friday-night forecast includes a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures dropping to around 60°F.
Forecasters say moisture associated with a Pacific tropical system could interact with an approaching weather disturbance, bringing more widespread rainfall to parts of North Texas. The favored area for rain is near and west of Interstate 35, although the exact timing and coverage remain uncertain. That distinction matters: a 50% rain chance is not a promise of all-day rain at every location.
What about Halloween on Saturday? Saturday, October 31, currently carries a 20% daytime shower chance in Little Elm, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 77°F. The Fort Worth forecast discussion suggests that much of the rain could be winding down during the day Saturday, which may leave many evening activities relatively unaffected. Still, families planning trick-or-treating, outdoor festivals or neighborhood gatherings should check the forecast again on Friday and have a rain-friendly alternative ready.
Because the corridor spans several communities, conditions may differ between Little Elm, Prosper, Frisco, Aubrey and McKinney. Event organizers may also change schedules independently of the weather forecast. Check official event pages before leaving home, particularly for activities on Friday.
Looking beyond the weekend Sunday looks partly sunny and warmer, with a high near 80°F. Another chance of showers and thunderstorms appears Monday, November 2, at 40%, and forecasters are watching the possibility of a stronger fall cold front Monday or Tuesday. Its arrival and strength are not yet certain, so the early-November outlook deserves another look later this week.
Three questions readers may have Will Halloween be washed out? Not necessarily. Saturday’s daytime rain chance is currently 20%, and the latest discussion suggests the more widespread rain may be ending by then. Plans should remain flexible.
Is severe weather expected? The current forecast discussion does not identify a broad severe-weather threat for the corridor, and the Fort Worth office lists no active watches, warnings or advisories at the time of this update. Isolated thunderstorms remain possible.
When should I check again? Review the latest forecast Thursday evening and Friday morning, especially if you are organizing or attending an outdoor event.
