How Keasie B's Coffee Cafe is Brewing More Than Just Coffee—A Stirring Success Story
From the moment she received her official certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise, Lakeast Boone has been a leader on the move. As the owner of Keasie B’s Coffee Cafe- Boutique, Boone is proving that a local business can be a powerful engine for community transformation, connection, and social change.

Creating Her Own Seat at the Table

The idea for Keasie B’s was initially sparked while Boone was working for a major corporate coffee chain. Despite her hard work, she frequently found herself being overlooked for promotions. Rather than waiting for an opportunity to be given to her, she made the bold choice to build her own table.

As a single mother, Boone deeply understands the daily challenges of building an environment for advancement. Her experiences fueled a vision to build a distinct kind of cafe—one rooted in unconditional hospitality, where individuals from all walks of life can step in, see the world through a different lens, and immediately feel a deep sense of belonging.

Built with Meaning: The Story Behind the Logo

Every element of Keasie B’s is filled with intention, right down to the branding. The name "Keasie B" itself stems from Boone’s childhood nickname, representing the foundational values of family. To Boone, every guest who crosses the threshold is treated as a member of that family.

The stunning logo features a cluster of pink tulips, which carry profound significance:

  • The Flower: Chosen for its bold, beautiful, cup-shaped petals, the tulip is a lily-family plant that blooms early in the spring, symbolizing rebirth. Its core floral meaning represents perfect love.
  • The Color: The vibrant pink represents deep caring, passion, attachment, and the sincere wishing of happiness for others.
  • The Number 17: There are exactly 17 tulips featured in the design. Spiritually, the number 17 represents insight, responsibility, self-discipline, strength, and compassion. In biblical contexts, it symbolizes overcoming the enemy and achieving complete victory—a reminder to every visitor to carry a victorious attitude into their day.

A Deep Mission of Service

Keasie B's goes far beyond serving premium beverages; it operates with a heart for local advocacy. Remembering the moments in her past when she witnessed members of the homeless community relying on simple cartons of milk to survive, Boone has integrated a structure of giving directly into her business model. A portion of the cafe's profits is systematically used to provide food, essential toiletries, and meaningful conversation to the local homeless population.

Looking forward, Boone is also planning a dedicated re-entry program designed to offer employment opportunities, mentorship, and stable transitions for individuals recently released from jail.

The Boutique & Coffee Experience

When you visit the physical storefront along the 380 corridor, you are greeted with a warm, multi-sensory hybrid boutique experience. While enjoying handcrafted espresso drinks, iced matcha, or refreshing signature bottled teas, visitors can explore an in-house market highlighting independent local creators. Features include luxury hand-poured travel candles from Velvet Glow Candle Co. and custom apparel from Pearlz T-Shirt Co.

It is this standard of meticulous care, excellent flavor, and mission-driven execution that has earned the business high-profile attention, including the honor of catering specialty custom brews and pastries directly to the Dallas Mavericks headquarters staff.

For female founders just starting their entrepreneurial journey, Boone offers a simple piece of wisdom: "Don’t give up, and ask for help! There are so many female entrepreneurs that are there to help."
