Little Elm Kids Market Brings Young Entrepreneurs to The Lawn

Little Elm families can shop small in a different way this month: by supporting children who are trying out their own business ideas.

Kids Market at The Lawn at The Lakefront runs Saturday, October 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at 125 Main Street.

The event invites young entrepreneurs to operate booths, showcase their products and share the creativity behind their ideas.

For shoppers, it is a chance to discover something distinctive while giving the next generation of local business owners an encouraging audience.

The organizer describes Kids Markets as farmers-market-style events for participants ages 5 through 17.

Families interested in operating a booth should review the organizer's registration information before making plans.

Vendor availability, fees and participation requirements should be confirmed directly during registration.

Make it a family evening

The market overlaps with an outdoor movie at the same location, giving visitors an easy way to combine shopping and entertainment.

SCOOB! begins at 7 p.m. as part of the Lights, Camera, Lawn movie series, and the town lists the screening as free.

Bring chairs or blankets so the family can settle in after visiting the market booths.

The film follows Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and the Mystery Inc. gang in an animated adventure suited to the event's playful Halloween-season setting.

The market's appeal is the simple combination of community support, children's creativity and an evening together outdoors.
