McKinney ISD Earns Multiple H-E-B Education Award Nominations
The district, its board and educators are recognized as the 2027 statewide awards process moves forward

McKinney ISD is entering the 2027 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards cycle with recognition across several levels of the district.
The district announced October 6 that McKinney ISD has been named an Outstanding School District nominee.
Its Board of Trustees also received a nomination, along with principals, school counselors and teachers from across the district.
What the nominations represent
The statewide awards program honors Texas public-school professionals and organizations for service to students and their communities.
Since the awards began in 2002, H-E-B says it has provided more than $15 million to teachers, counselors, principals, schools, early-childhood centers, boards and districts.
A nomination is an early step rather than a finalist or winner designation, but it gives McKinney families a timely reason to celebrate the educators and leaders representing their schools.
The next step in the 2027 process
According to the official awards calendar, applications are due November 1, 2026, with supporting letters from an applicant’s principal or administrator due November 4.
Finalists and winners will be selected by a panel of educators, administrators and community leaders, with the awards ceremony planned for spring 2027.
