Hill Lane’s Phase 2 traffic pattern is now active in Little Elm. Southbound vehicles shift into the opposite lane between French Settlement and Dickson Lane, while northbound traffic is not permitted through that section.
Drivers near Oak Grove Parkway and Eldorado Parkway should allow extra time and follow changing work-zone signs. Read the official traffic update, view the Hill Lane project notice, or use the Town’s Submit/Report page for service concerns.
The safest plan is to check the route before each trip because configurations may change as construction advances. Read More... |

Downtown Frisco has a new place to linger. Fourth Street Plaza is open to the public, connecting Elm Street and Main Street through a pedestrian-focused space in the Rail District. An official celebration is planned for October, but visitors can already walk through the plaza and use its green space.
The roughly $18.7 million project brings an amphitheater-style lawn, covered walkways, gateway features and a stage to a part of downtown the city has been reshaping for years.
Construction began in July 2024, and the plaza is the last major construction milestone in a broader $68 million Rail District effort. Some furniture remains to be installed, but the public space is ready for everyday visits and community gatherings.
Getting there took longer than the city first expected. The plaza had been targeted for completion before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but work on Main Street and a downtown parking garage took precedence as several projects moved forward at once.
The shift did not raise the plaza’s price tag. Its purpose-built restroom, stage, shade structure and other custom components also required more fabrication and assembly than standard public-space fixtures.
The first test of the plaza’s community role came before the ribbon-cutting.
Play Frisco scheduled free sunrise yoga sessions there in September, with no registration required and participants bringing their own mats.
That is the promise of the new space: not just another downtown landmark, but somewhere residents can slow down, meet up and spend time outside. |

Denton’s Drone as First Responder pilot runs Oct. 1–31. Certified police and fire pilots can launch docked drones within seconds of selected 911 calls, including crashes, missing-person cases, robberies in progress and structure fires.
Live video can reach the 911 dispatch center before crews arrive, while every flight must be tied to a call for service and recorded. Read the official announcement, explore the city’s DFR information and transparency resources, or follow Denton public-safety updates.
The month-long test will help officials measure speed, usefulness and accountability before deciding what comes next. Read More... |

WHY THESE ARE BRIGHT SPOTS
Growth will always be part of the 380 story. But this section is deliberately broader than development news. Parks, civic service, environmental stewardship, recognition for good public work and programs that help neighbors stay connected are all part of what makes a growing corridor feel like home. |
