Founded in 2017 by Raechel Van Buskirk in Omaha, Nebraska, the company began as a passion project.

 

Van Buskirk, leveraging her background in the food industry, started experimenting with deviled egg flavors while managing a local bar.

 

The positive feedback from patrons encouraged her to transform this side endeavor into a full-fledged business.

 

In 2023, following a personal health challenge, Van Buskirk and her business partner, Alexi Wellman, relocated the operation to North Texas to be closer to family.

 

Since then, Deviled Egg Co. has flourished, offering a variety of gourmet deviled eggs and salads.

 

The menu boasts over 20 creative flavors, including sriracha bacon, crab rangoon, and cheeseburger.

 

Each recipe is crafted with high-quality, free-range eggs, ensuring a delightful experience for customers.

 

Initially operating a food trailer and a full-service restaurant, the company has shifted its focus by introducing grab-and-go locations in McKinney, on 111 W Virginia St, and Rockwall, on 2065 Summer Lee Drive. These outlets cater to the on-the-go lifestyle of their patrons, offering quick access to their gourmet offerings. The location in  Denison, 231 W Main St., is a sit-down restaurant where you can enjoy the full menu, including craft cocktails and appetizers.

 

In May 2025, Deviled Egg Co. gained national attention by appearing on the season 16 finale of 'Shark Tank'.

 

Van Buskirk and Wellman presented their business to the panel, seeking investment to fuel further expansion.

 

Their pitch resonated with the Sharks, leading to a joint investment from Mark Cuban and Barbara Corcoran.

 

The duo offered $250,000 for a 20% stake in the company, marking Cuban's final deal on the show.

 

This partnership has propelled Deviled Egg Co. into a new phase of growth, including plans for additional grab-and-go locations and nationwide shipping.
